Iittala Birds have become a global phenomenon. It all started in the early 1970s when the Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka designed the first glass birds. While Oiva Toikka continues adding new birds to his collection, Iittala is also introducing a new generation of Iittala.
Handmade Birds in 2007 are designed by the Italian artist and jewellery designer, Giorgio Vigna.
"Summerso" technique with different layers of glass is used to create this significant bird. The colors employed are water blue and black. The Vigna Collection is refined and sculptural.
